LPS 1175 Physical Security Systems

Scalable protection engineered around the threat

Singular Security has developed a range of modular physical security systems providing progressively higher levels of resistance to forced entry.

From protection against determined attacks using easily concealed tools through to extended resistance against experienced attackers using more capable equipment, each system is engineered to provide a defined level of physical protection appropriate to the threat.

Our systems can be configured to create security walling, secure partitions and complete security enclosures, providing a flexible approach to protecting critical assets and sensitive environments.

Security to match the threat

Not every asset or environment requires the same level of physical protection.

The appropriate security system depends on factors including the criticality of the asset, the anticipated capability of an attacker, the tools potentially available and the time required for detection and response.

LPS 1175 provides a recognised method of defining this performance by combining a tool category with an attack working time.

Singular Security provides a range of systems across these classifications, allowing physical protection to be selected according to the threat and operational requirements of each project.

Each system provides a different level of forced-entry resistance while retaining the flexibility, adaptability and installation advantages of Singular Security’s modular approach.

Swan

B3 forced-entry resistance

Swan provides the first level of forced-entry resistance within the Singular Security system range.

Designed for applications requiring protection against a more determined attack using easily concealed tools of greater mechanical advantage, Swan provides a robust modular security solution for protecting assets, equipment and controlled areas.

The system can be configured as security walling, secure partitions or incorporated into a complete security enclosure depending on the requirements of the project.

LPS 1175 Security Rating - B3

Threat - More determined attack using easily concealed tools of a greater mechanical advantage.

Attack Working Time - 3 minutes

Stephenson

C5 forced-entry resistance

Stephenson provides increased resistance to forced entry for environments facing a more capable and deliberate threat.

Designed to resist deliberate forced entry using a wide selection of commonly available, relatively easily concealed tools, Stephenson provides increased attack resistance while retaining the modular construction principles used throughout the Singular Security range.

The system can be configured as security walling, secure partitions or incorporated into a complete security enclosure.

LPS 1175 Security Rating - C5

Threat - Deliberate forced entry using a wide selection of commonly available, relatively easily concealed tools.

Attack Working Time - 5 minutes

Parsons

D10 forced-entry resistance

Parsons is designed for higher-security environments requiring resistance against experienced attempts at forced entry.

The Category D toolset represents a significant increase in attack capability, making Parsons suitable for the protection of critical assets and sensitive environments where resistance against a determined and experienced attacker is required.

The system can be configured as security walling, secure partitions or incorporated into a complete security enclosure.

LPS 1175 Security Rating - D10

Threat - Experienced attempts at forced entry.

Attack Working Time - 10 minutes

Armstrong

E10 forced-entry resistance

Armstrong provides a higher level of forced-entry protection for demanding environments facing experienced attackers with access to more capable battery-powered tools.

Designed to resist experienced attempts at forced entry using tools of a greater battery power, Armstrong provides substantial physical protection for critical assets and sensitive environments.

The system can be configured as security walling, secure partitions or incorporated into a complete security enclosure.

LPS 1175 Security Rating - E10

Threat - Experienced attempts at forced entry using tools of a greater battery power.

Attack Working Time - 10 minutes

One platform. Multiple levels of protection.

The Singular Security range allows the level of physical protection to be selected according to the threat, required attack resistance and operational requirements of each project.

Each system shares a modular approach to construction and can be configured as security walling or as part of a complete security enclosure.

Where requirements change over time, the modular design can also provide a route to increased security performance. Singular Security can assess existing installations and advise on appropriate modifications within the scope of the applicable LPCB certification.

Choosing the right system

Selecting the appropriate system starts with understanding the asset, anticipated threat and wider security strategy.

Considerations can include the capability of a potential attacker, available tools, required attack resistance, detection and response arrangements, existing security measures and how requirements may change over time.

Singular Security can work alongside clients, security consultants, architects and contractors to identify an appropriate security level and certified system configuration.

Understanding the ratings

Under LPS 1175 Issue 8, the letter within a security rating identifies the tool category used during attack testing, while the number identifies the attack working time in minutes.

For example, D10 represents testing against the Category D toolset with an attack working time of 10 minutes.

Attack working time is the period during which the test team is actively working on the product and should not be interpreted as a guaranteed real-world delay time.

Certified Singular Security systems and their approved configurations can be independently verified through LPCB's RedBook Live certification directory.

Engineering heritage

Our security systems take their names from engineers and innovators with strong connections to the North East of England and its industrial heritage.

  • Swan - Named after Sir Joseph Swan, the Sunderland-born physicist and inventor whose pioneering work included the development of the practical incandescent electric lamp.
  • Stephenson - Named after George Stephenson, the North East engineer whose pioneering work in steam locomotion helped transform rail transport around the world.
  • Parsons - Named after Sir Charles Algernon Parsons, whose development of the compound steam turbine in Newcastle transformed marine propulsion and power generation.
  • Armstrong - Named after Lord William Armstrong, the Newcastle industrialist, engineer and inventor whose work encompassed hydraulics, engineering, armaments and shipbuilding.

Together, the names recognise a regional legacy of engineering, innovation and manufacturing that continues to influence how we approach the design and manufacture of physical security systems today.
